Mae ymchwil a gyhaliwyd gan y Sefydliad Arweinyddiaeth a Rheolaeth wedi dangos bod gwella eich sgiliau annog a mentora yn helpu gwella eich sgiliau arwain ac yn gwneud i chi fod yn rheolwr fwy effeithiol.

Research carried out by the Institute of Leadership & Managment has demonstated that enhancing your coaching and mentoring skills helps to make you a better leader and a more effective manager.

Pobl sydd â rôl mentora neu sy'n arwain timau bach neu fawr.

Pobl sydd yn meithrin a hyfforddi staff newydd neu'n reoli llawryddion.

Arweinwyr tîm sy'n arwain eu timau drwy newid.

People who have a mentoring role or who lead small or large teams.

People who are expected to nurture and train new staff or manage freelancers.

Team leaders who are guiding their teams through change.

People who'd like to persue training as part of their personal development.

People looking to re-enter employment and wish to expand their skill base.

Freelancers who want to mentor and nurture other freelancers, passing on their experience.

Bydd yr hyfforddiant yn cynnwys dau ddiwrnod o hyfforddiant, pythefnos ar wahân.

Ar ôl y diwrnod cyntaf bydd ymarfer byr yn cael ei osod i'ch helpu i baratoi ar gyfer yr ail diwrnod a'r aseiniad.

Ar ôl yr ail diwrnod byddwch yn gwneud 6 awr o annog a mentora (4 x 1.5 awr o sesiwn 1-i-1 fel arfer) lle byddwch yn cadw cofnod myfyriol dros gyfnod o 4 wythnos.

The training will consist of two training days, two weeks apart.

After training day 1 you will be set a short practice exercise to help you prepare for day 2 and the assignment.

After the second training day you will carry out six hours of mentoring and coaching (usually 4 x 1.5 hour to 1-to-1 sessions) for which you will keep a reflective log over a 4-week period.

  • Purpose of the programme
  • Differences between coaching and mentoring
  • Qualities and skills needed for each
  • Practice the core skills
  • Model Push/Pull
  • Exercise on this model set for 'homework'
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Managing expectations

  •  Adolygu a gwerthuso sgiliau
  • Cyflwyniad i’r model grow
  • Y broses gontractio
  • Gweithgareddau ymarferol gan ddefnyddio GROW
  • Camau yn y broses annog / mentora
  • Cynllunio a chanllawiau gweithredu ar yr aseiniad

Day 2

  • Re-cap and review of skills
  • Introduction to GROW model
  • Contracting process
  • Practical activities using GROW
  • Stages in the coaching/mentoring process
  • Action planning and guidance on assignment

 Ar ddiwedd y gweithdy, dylech fod yn gallu:

 

  • Ystyried y gwahaniaethau rhwng mentora ac annog.
  • Deall rôl y mentor / hyfforddwr ac yn ystyried y sgiliau a'r rhinweddau sydd eu hangen i gyflawni'r rôl yn effeithiol.
  • Ystyried rôl y rheolwr llinell
  • Nodi'r gwahanol arddulliau o mentora / annog y gellir eu mabwysiadu.
  • Cynnal arferion mentora / annog ac adolygu cynnydd.

 

At the end of the workshop you should be able to:

  • Consider the differences between mentoring and coaching.
  • Understand the role of the mentor/coach and consider the skills and qualities needed to carry out the role effectively.
  • Consider the line manager's role
  • Identify the different styles of mentoring/coaching that may be adopted.
  • Carry out mentoring/coaching practice and review progress.
