Cwrs diwrnod yn cynnig cyfle unigryw i droi eich llaw at bobi bara traddodiadol a chael eich ysbrydoli gan awyrgylch Sain Ffagan Amgueddfa Werin Cymru fel rhan o'r Ŵyl Fwyd eleni.

Bydd Nick Macleod o One Mile Bakery yng Nghaerdydd yn dysgu'r holl dechnegau angenrheidiol i greu bara cartref blasus, traddodiadol.

Dysgwch ragor am grefft hynafol pobi bara a chyfarfod y melinydd yn y felin flawd. Bydd cyfle i falu eich blawd eich hun cyn mynd yn ôl i dylino'r toes. Ar ôl i'r toes godi, bydd yn cael ei bobi ym mhopty Georgetown, ein popty cymunedol hanesyddol, a byddwch chi'n mynd adref â thorth flasus eich hun ar ddiwedd y cwrs.

This one day course is a unique opportunity to try your hand at traditional bread making in the inspirational setting of St Fagans National Museum of History as part of this year’s Food Festival.

You’ll learn all the techniques needed to prepare delicious, handmade bread in the traditional manner, under the guidance of Nick Macleod from One Mile Bakery Cardiff​.

Discover more about the ancient art of bread making and meet the miller in our lovingly reconstructed flour mill. Have a go at milling grain by hand before heading back to base to continue baking. After proving, you will bake your bread in our historic communal Georgetown bread oven​ and then take your own artisan loaf home at the end of the course.

This fun relaxed course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience of bread making. The price of your ticket includes all materials and equipment required for the day.

Light refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit our food festival traders, or our on-site catering facilities. The price of this course includes parking – collect your parking pass from the reception desk on arrival.

All tickets for this event must be purchased in advance.

The Museum reserves the right to make adjustments to the schedule and content if necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.


Language: This course will be held in English but we are happy to provide simultaneous translation if you would like to take part in Welsh. Please choose a ticket in your language of choice, making sure you have one ticket for each person. Please book your tickets at least one week before the event.

Suitability: 18+

Concession eligibility: Unwaged, over 60, anyone in full-time education with NUS card, disabled.

Base Location: Studio 1, Weston Centre for Learning

Accessibility: The Weston Centre for Learning is located inside the main entrance building, and is fully accessible. Elements of this course involve walking outdoors - to the Melin Bompren flour mill and Georgetown oven. Both locations are a 5/10 minute walk from the base.
