Abstract

This talk will outline developments in modelling the rainfall-runoff process in urban catchments, discussing particularly the importance for design flood estimation. Links will be made to ongoing efforts to understand the impact of green infrastructure on urban runoff.

About Dr Thomas Kjeldsen

Thomas is Reader in civil engineering at the University of Bath where he teaches courses on hydrological risk and application of risk and uncertainty in civil engineering design. Prior to his current role he was a senior scientist at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology where he worked on the Flood Estimation Handbook. Thomas is also a Trustee of the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust.
