About this event

  • Free venue parking

Join artist and printmaker Lisa Edwards for a creative, hands-on day in a beautiful countryside location. In this traditional printmaking workshop, you’ll learn how to print fabric using the cyanotype process and craft it into a unique, handprinted lampshade to take home.

You’ll start by learning how cyanotype works, experimenting with sample swatches before designing your own print using natural materials like wildflowers, leaves, and feathers. In the afternoon, you’ll turn your handprinted fabric into a professional-quality drum lampshade. A beautiful handprinted piece of art for your home.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and curious creatives alike. Whether you're exploring a new craft or looking to add a personal, nature-inspired touch to your home, you'll leave with new skills, inspiration, and something truly one-of-a-kind.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the price?

All tools and materials to make a handprinted fabric 25cm drum lampshade. Tea, coffee, refreshments, and delicious homemade cakes.

Do I need any creative skills to join?

Not at all. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to develop their creative practice.

How many people are in the class?

Small group size: maximum 6 people. This allows me to give each participant more individual attention and feedback.

What should I bring?

Please bring a packed lunch (or visit one of the nearby local cafés). All materials are included in the price, but feel free to bring your own plants or flowers if you’d like to personalise your design.

What if it's not sunny?

If the sun doesn’t make an appearance, don't worry. We’ll use Ultra Violet lamps instead. These allow us to create beautiful prints all year round, whatever the weather.
