An Effective Information Sharing & Security Roundtable event:

Cyber Insurance & Understanding Organisational Risk


What is this event about?

We are in an era of trying to understand the level of cyber risk our organisations face, and how we can mitigate these risks. Cyber Insurance is an option that many public sector organisations are considering but many of us are unsure about the benefits, risks and options. The NCSC has been looking at the cyber insurance market for the last year and have established a cross government and industry strategic group to look at the matter. We will have the opportunity to hear from NCSC on their perspective on cyber insurance, and for you to ask questions. We will also facilitate an open discussion to understand where attending delegates are at on the journey of mitigating cyber risk in their organisations and their current approach to cyber insurance. The discussion aims to share knowledge and experience to gain collective insight.

This event is for public sector attendees only; private sector attendees will not be permitted to attend this event.


What's on the agenda?

Andrew F, NCSC has been invited to speak about cyber insurance. Andrew will be sharing what are things we need to consider when choosing cyber insurance, and the NCSC perspective on cyber insurance. He will also talk about what NCSC is doing at a strategic cross government level with insurance companies, to understand what is best practice in the space of cyber insurance.

Shelley Heckman, iNetwork will be chairing the event, and facilitating the group discussion. The group discussion will provide a space for everyone in the room to share where they are at on the journey of choosing cyber insurance, and to discuss in a secure space our organisation's understanding of cyber risk.


Who should attend?

This event is aimed primarily at those working in local public sector organisations who are responsible for, or are involved in, cyber security.

Arrivals are from 9:30am (for a 10:00am start), the event will finish no later than 1:30pm. Please note that refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

Places are strictly limited to no more than 20 delegates, so please register your interest to attend ASAP.

Complimentary tea, coffee and lunch will be provided on the day.

All iNetwork events are CPD certified. Delegates are eligible to request, on registration, a free CPD certificate for attending. Delegates must sign the register to prove attendance, and CPD certificates will be sent after the event.


About iNetwork's Effective Information Sharing & Security Programme

This event is delivered to you as part of iNetwork's Effective Information Sharing & Security Programme (EISS). The EISS programme supports information sharing professionals in the areas of governance and security within the local public sector. The priorities of the programme are: Strengthening and Supporting Information Leadership; Improving Cyber Security and Resilience; and Improving necessary and proportionate information sharing to support effective partnership working and person centred care.

The network is open to anyone whose organisations are members of iNetwork, which includes almost all councils, NHS trusts and CCGs, Police, and Fire & Rescue organisations in the North West. A full list of members is available at www.i-network.org.uk.

The Fine Print:

Event Registration & Cancellation information: FREE attendance for those individuals from organisations that have a current subscription with iNetwork . For non subscribing members, the cost is £295 per person.

If you plan to attend, please register no later than 5 working days before the event in order that we may confirm numbers with the venue. Please let us know in plenty of time if you have booked onto the event but cannot attend by emailing karys.thompson@tameside.gov.uk. No cancellation charges apply, however each no-show or last minute cancellations is costly, using funds that cannot be recouped. Sufficient notice [at least 7 days in advance - which is the minimum notification for most venues] or delegate substitution with a colleague is much appreciated.
