This course is for you if you are concerned about cyber security, and want to know what you and your business should be doing to stay safe. You will learn about different threats to your organisation, how hackers think and can target you and what you can do to ensure you don’t become a victim.
This one day course requires no technical background and is ideal for those who have responsibility of cyber security at an organisation. With a focus on the practical, the course will ensure you know what to do next to secure your company.
The day will cover:
Threats: The different kinds of hackers and their motivations
Techniques: How hackers hack, including an opportunity to try some hacking yourself
Strategies for Protection: Practical steps you can take to protect your organisation, including
Improving your IT security
Dealing with incidents if they occur
Policies & Procedures: An overview of the documentation and guidance you should have in place, including requirements for staff, and for your IT providers
Standards & Accreditations: An overview of different cyber security standards that are available, guidance on which ones are right for you, and how to achieve, and maintain, compliance
The course will use workshops and class discussions to ensure you leave confident in the next steps you need to take to secure your organisation. Attendees are requested to bring a laptop.
The course runs 0900 to 1700, and the price includes breakfast (please arrive early if you want to eat breakfast) and lunch, as well as coffee & tea, and other refreshments, throughout the day.
