Cyber crime is an increasing concern for all organisations, regardless of size. "SMEs have not historically been the target of cyber crime, but in 2015 something drastically changed,” Toni Allen, UK Head of Client Propositions at the British Standards Institute, told the Guardian newspaper.

In 2014 the UK Government launched Cyber Essentials, a scheme encouraging organisations to introduce a basic level of protection against cyber attack. It is particularly useful for SMEs to provide their clients with assurance they are taking measures to protect their data. Cyber Essentials is beginning to become mandated within several governmental supply chains including the Crown Commercial Service, the NHS and the DWP.
When implemented, the knowledge gained during this series of workshops will put you in good stead for achieving the Cyber Essentials accreditation. As a licenced certification body for Cyber Essentials, Whitgift Security can certify your organisation quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
