Event description

FREE event hosted by Air-IT in conjuction with

East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU)

Air-IT, Browne Jacobson, IASME, Notts County, Datto logos

Join Air-IT at Notts County FC, for lunch and a tour of the world’s oldest football league club before our expert speakers share their professional insights into the latest cyber security threats, what you need to do to protect your business and how to prepare for changing data protection legislation.

Cyber threats are growing in both number and complexity. The UK Government estimate that cyber-attacks cost UK business £29.1 billion in 2016, with some 2.9 million companies hit by some form of attack.

It’s believed over half of UK businesses have suffered a ransomware attack, and the repercussions are becoming increasingly more severe with many high profile global attacks making the news. This has been a wake-up call for many, and the time has come for businesses to take their cyber-security seriously.

Additionally, forthcoming changes to data protection law being enforced by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from 25 May 2018, means businesses need to plan to meet compliance.

Delegates will hear from experts from the Police Cyber Crime Team (Robert Pugh), leading law firm Browne Jacobson LLP (Helena Wootton), Government backed accreditation provider the IASME Consortium (Chris Pinder).

You’ll also see a live Ransomware infection from leading backup and disaster recovery solutions provider Datto, as well as hearing from our own Cyber Security expert, Air-IT Chief Technology Officer, Sam Reed.

Lunch will be provided before the main sessions and we’ll be offering a free VIP tour behind the scenes at Meadow Lane with Notts County Legend Les Bradd.

Key takeaways will include:

  • Gain an inside view from the Police about how Cyber Crime is affecting local business
  • Understand the growing risks and real implications of a cyber-attack
  • Gain practical, Government backed advice from accredited cyber experts
  • Learn how to dramatically reduce the risk of becoming a victim
