Event description

Learn more about cyber skills in an interactive shared learning experience. Skills Development Scotland will bring alive cyber security skills as part of a hands on lesson that can be streamed directly into your classroom.

Get hands on and learn digital skills, ask the experts questions, and share your work with hundreds of other learners across the country live.

No special software is required to take part – all you need is access to the Internet and a modern web browser. No previous technical knowledge or computing coding skills are required.

Lesson 2: How to Rob a Bank (alternatively “Breaking into a Raspberry Pi”)

In the Cyber Skills den in Glasgow we’ve set up a Raspberry Pi Piggy Bank filled with financial information. Your task is to break into our bank and take control of the computer. In this lesson, you’ll be guided through a series of short tasks that will help you learn new cyber security and digital skills. Complete the tasks before the timer runs out and you’ll be able to “hack” our computer and remotely control it from your classroom.

This lesson is inspired by “Capture the Flag” security games, these are used to help train new cyber security recruits or allow professionals to sharpen their skills.

This live session will be broadcast via GLOW for all schools to access and further information on how to join the meeting will be emailed to everyone nearer the time.

Note - individual pupils do not need to register to attend, teachers will register for full class.
