On Friday 23rd March at 10.30am, PwC will also be delivering their second Meet the Expert session where we will here from two of their experts working in Cyber Threat Detection & Response and hear about real life case studies, a great learning opportunity for anyone interested this sector.

Talk 1 - Rob MacGregor, Cyber Threat Detection & Response

Rob has been working in the thing currently called cyber since 2000. During that time, he has done research, ethical hacking, threat intelligence, incident response, and more. He leads a team of threat hunters, based mostly in Edinburgh and Belfast, working for clients across the globe.

Subject – NotPetya Case study - In this session Rob will talk about what being a victim of NotPetya was like for one organisation, or in other words what happens when worst case predictions turn out to be wildly optimistic.

Talk 2 - Dave Rowell, Cyber Threat Detection & Response

Dave has worked in cyber roles for around 17 years, doing everything from intrusion analysis working at various Security Operations Centres (SOC's), security architecture, ethical hacking, incident response and threat hunting. He has lead incident response teams working on complex breaches for clients around the world, and heads up development of some of PwC's managed threat detection, response and endpoint threat hunting services.

Subject: The Hacker Hunters: Finding a needle in 10,000 haystacks - In this session Dave will talk about what it's like to work as an Incident Responder, the types of situations they regularly parachute into to help clients during crisis situations, and an introduction to the techniques we use to find hackers in enterprise networks...and kick them out!

This live session will be broadcast via GLOW for all schools to access and further information on how to join the meeting will be emailed to everyone nearer the time.

These sessions will be recorded if you are unable to attend live. They will be made available on GLOW at a later date in the Cyber Resilience area.

Note - individual pupils do not need to register to attend, teachers will register for full class.
