Event description

Part of the Cyber Skills programme this Meet the Expert session is in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College.

The sessions give pupils the chance to virtually ‘meet’ people working in cyber security and ask questions through video conferencing sessions. The project aims to highlight the range of careers today’s youngsters could perform in the rapidly growing cyber security and cyber resilience industries. Many of the jobs they could do when they leave school haven’t even been invented yet.

Glasgow Clyde College will give those logging on an insight into what goes on behind the scenes in the battle to keep hackers from accessing student profiles and confidential details at Glasgow Clyde College.

The first presentation in the Meet the Expert series will also use the BBC micro:bit to perform simple fun tasks such as creating a smiley face and drawing pictures.

This live session will be broadcast via GLOW for all schools to access and further information on how to join the meeting will be emailed to everyone nearer the time.

These sessions will be recorded if you are unable to attend live. They will be made available on GLOW at a later date in the Cyber Resilience area.

Note - individual pupils do not need to register to attend, teachers will register for full class.
