Event description

Description

Join STEP and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) team for an open discussion about Cybercrime.

According to the Office for National Statistics, 53% of UK crime was cyber-based by the end of March 2016...and this is a statistic that is continuing to increase at an alarming rate.

What would you and your company do if or when faced with an unpreventable cyber attack? Do you have an action plan?

This morning-seminar is for local businesses who are worried/ would like to find out more about online security risks.

SBRC's Chief Ethical Hacking Consultant Gerry Grant will explain - in plain English - what the latest threats are, and provide examples of how such attacks can have a huge impact on a business. He will go on to offer simple tips on how you can greatly reduce the likelihood of becoming a cyber crime victim, and will also explain how companies can recover from cyber-attacks.

Gerry will be joined by an ethical hacker who will provide tips on how to be safe online, what to look out for and what new tricks they are using to beat the baddies!

There will also be a Q&A session and an opportunity to network over coffee and light snacks.

This will be the first event of Digital December, a week of events celebrating all things digital - Book now to reserve your place!
