Already a semi regular/regular rider but keen to feel more confident on roads? This session is for women who cycle often but want to improve their road positioning, communication, and control essential for commuting, school runs, or errands around town.
In this traffic free skills session, Alex Aiken, qualified female cycle coach, will guide you through:
- How to ride more assertively and predictably
- Practicing safe manoeuvres and signalling techniques
- Building confidence for junctions and urban cycling
- Planning your routes and preparing for solo or group rides
The goal: Feel strong, confident and ready for the road even if you're still in the car park (for now)!
Who is Alex Aiken?
Alex is a passionate and experienced cycling coach who loves helping women build confidence on two wheels. She’s a Level 2 British Cycling Coach, Level 2 Road Leader, and a Fundamentals of Mountain Bike Leader – so you’re in safe, knowledgeable hands.
As a long-time volunteer with Breeze, British Cycling’s initiative to get more women riding for fun, Alex has supported and coached hundreds of women across North Wales. She went on to become the Area Coordinator for North and Mid Wales, and is also the founder of the women’s cycling club Women Cycling Together / Beicio Gyda Merched.
Alex especially enjoys working with beginners and returners to cycling, and seeing just how quickly confidence and skills can grow. For her, there’s nothing better than cycling through the beautiful landscapes of North Wales with friends, chatting and stopping for a well-earned coffee at one of her favourite spots.
Her sessions are friendly, relaxed and supportive – whether you’re dreaming of cycling the kids to school or taking on your first long-distance ride, Alex is here to help you believe you can. And who knows? You might just catch the cycling bug!
