Event description

Description

A cycle prayer ride is being organised across the Diocese of Sheffield from Goole to Sheffield Cathedral on Pentecost Sunday 9th June 2019 - start time 8.30am.

EACH RIDER MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY

There will be three options of ride along routes that have been designed carefully with safety and enjoyment in mind - trail and road routes between 50-55 miles but also a shorter trail ride of about 25 miles starting at Sprotborough.

We hope to recruit around 50 riders who will be in groups of around 5 people with a group leader, stopping off at a few churches on the route and participants are invited to pray for the communities and churches they pass along the way with some key stops at Goole, Wath-upon-Dearne and Rotherham Minster - three 'Resourcing Churches'.

The ride will take most of the day and will be a challenge for most riders.

After the ride is complete, riders are also invited to attend a Pentecost Sunday Beacon service at the Cathedral, starting at 6pm. It is also possible that a short family ride on a traffic free section will be organised - details to decided.

Some details are still being finalised but we hope that this will be an exciting event, combining prayer with pilgrimage and a sense of the church on the move but of course is open to all our friends and family who are up for the challenge!
