Hi there & thanks for reading this=0) . After the success of previous Northern Soul & related events , we're holding another Northern Soul Night on Saturday17th of October 7pm - 11.30pm. Putting the 'Northern' & the 'Soul' back into Manchester. The venue itself was built in1901/2 and was originally called the 'Hulme Hippodrome' then known later has the 'Playhouse Theatre' and now known as the Niamos Centre. The address; Nia Centre, Chichester Road, Hulme. Manchester. M15 5EU, situated behind 'Hulme Garden Centre'.
For me it's got 'Northern Soul' written all over it & many who have attended, tend to agree. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside it's got that old music hall look similar to Wigan Casino (although very much a lot smaller) or indeed Bradford's Queens Hall (again but on a smaller scale). It's got a nice wooden dance floor & balcony's (Strictly No Drinks the Dance Floor). The music policy will be 'right across the board' Classic & Under played Northern, Motown, Newies , Cross Over & Modern. Hopefully something to please everyone on the Rare/Northern Soul Scene. We are very pleased to announce that we have Special Guest DJ Connor White from Manchester's very own 'Room At The The Top, Danny Patton(Wigan), Bella- Niamos resident DJ ,Maxine Bellini (Manchester)-Soul in The Cellar, John Kino (Manchester).

Venue Info: The Nia Centre, now known as Niamos Centre, is an unfunded co-operatively run community hub and arts venue located in Hulme, Manchester. It occupies the former site of the Hulme Playhouse, a building with a rich history that has been used as a theatre, cinema, BBC recording studio, and more. The Niamos Centre was relaunched in 2018 as a community arts centre, and it now features spaces for visual arts, live music, dance nights, film screenings, a micro-bakery, and other arts and community activities.
