A ride along the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath. There is a short section on a quiet road and an on-road cycle path to access the towpath from the Leisure Centre, where your instructor will act as your guide. These sections may be walked instead if you are not quite ready.
Participants will need to be comfortable and confident with their ability to:-
- make the bike where you want it to go
- swerve
- use gears (able to change up or down a gear easily)
- controlled stopping and emergency stopping
- cycling one handed is useful but not essential
- looking over your shoulder to help with awareness of other path users
- cycle up a short steady hill is useful but not essential as this may be walked if needed
If you can't attend a session you have booked - please cancel it as soon as possible via the Eventbrite booking system - or drop us an e-mail if you can't work out how to do it yourself). Bikes and helmets will be provided.
