Event description

Description

Cyclops (closed loop systems for optimized treatment) Network Plus invites you to join our network by attending our two-day Grand Challenge Workshop in Jan 2018.

With focus on cancer, chronic wounds and critical care, Cyclops network aims to bring together academics, clinicians and industry stakeholders with interest in artificial intelligence, sensors, mathematical modelling and control theory. Stakeholders will identify gaps and form new ideas around the use of mathematical models to create autonomous systems for treatment.

Funding for feasibility studies

At the workshop, you will have the opportunity to pitch your innovative idea (conceptual or practical); and we will encourage you to turn it into a study proposal, which could be funded up to a maximum of £60,000.

Cyclops Network Plus is EPSRC-funded, and is oriented towards early career researchers as well as established ones. To be eligible for feasibility study application, you must attend the workshop.

Criteria for attending the workshop

The workshop is free to attend, which includes refreshments on both days and evening dinner on day 1. Attendance is by application only.

If the workshop is oversubscribed, we will select applicants based on expertise, clinical interests and reason for wanting to attend the workshop.

Registration closes Monday 13th November 2017.

Applicants will be notified of decisions by Friday 1st December 2017.

Travel and accomodation expenses

Attendees must pay for their travel and accommodation. Limited place accommodation is offered at £62+vat at Jubilee Conference Centre.
