RCOT Specialist Section CYPF : Acute Clinical Forum PICU Study Day

Our inaugural study day will be held on Friday 27th October 2017, at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The programme is dedicated to bringing occupational therapists together to share, promote and discuss good practice within the paediatric intensive care setting. We welcome all occupational therapists who have an interest in acute paediatrics to attend, there will be much to learn, share and develop.

Please enquire via email about setting up a video link if you are unable to attend in person, or can only link up for some of the day.

Programme highlights:

- NIHR present on the recent research call ‘early mobilisation in the paediatric intensive care unit’.

- Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, share their hospital-wide PICU pathway, which covers the decision making process for discharge/transfer and rehab

- Take home messages from the 2017 National PICU conference, including the presentation from Glasgow therapist on ‘Early rehabilitation in PICU: How do we do it and what does it achieve?’

- Presentation of the services offered by OT in PICU at the Toronto Children's Hospital, Canada

- Opportunity to share current practice to support outcomes, evidence in the field, common challenges and to investigate ways in which occupational therapy services can be delivered or improved within this clinical setting.

It is FREE for members, (non-members £15, student non-members £8) and a sandwich lunch will be provided.
