About this Event

According to the Islington Transformation Plan for Children and Young People's Mental Health and Wellbeing 2015-2020 Report, Islington children and young people have many of the risk factors associated with poorer mental health outcomes, with particular reference to deprivation, child poverty, living in workless households and single parents. This is reflected in high prevalence of mental health conditions among children and young people in the borough(roughly 13% of 5-17 year olds). Islington’s most recent JSNA 3 reports a high level of integrated commissioning of its services including CAMHS, adult mental health services and social care.

At the October Forum meeting, CYPVSF will bring together professionals working in the borough to improve these outcomes for Islington's cyp.

Speakers confirmed so far:

Tom Neumark representing The Peel Institute – discussing the Direct Action Project’s experience around youth mental health.

Joint Presentation* Lil Fahy & Helen Cameron – Lil will speak on iMHARS in Islington, and Helen who leads on iTIPS (Trauma Informed Practice in Schools) will elaborate on Trauma Informed Practice.

Joint Presentation* Jane Stephenson-Glynn & Hannah Jenner – Jane is the Children’s Health Commissioning Manager from Islington Council (CAMHS). She led on commissioning, design, and implementation of the new Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Services Pathway. Hannah is the Senior Emotional Wellbeing Worker for Isledon.
