Event description

Description

Come and wingwalk with us to commemorate the 75 years since D-Day and raise vital funds for Home For Veterans. This will allow us to look after those vulnerable Veterans who need our help now!

All guest wing walkers will be flown by one of the highly experienced display pilots, who are often members of the Breitling Wingwalkers’ team. They have many hours of flying experience, flying the 1940’s Boeing Stearman biplanes.

Before taking to the skies, one of the professional and highly experienced wing walkers, will fully brief each guest wing walker on all safety aspects of the experience, including a demonstration of how to climb up and down from the wing and operation of the harness system. They will also be able to give some very helpful advice on looking glamorous and how to pose well in front of your friends and family, as you pass them at speeds of up to 150 mph!

This promises to be the experience of a life time!

Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans provide supported accommodation to British Armed Forces Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. We believe no Veteran should be forced to sleep on the streets. We provide dedicated support to Veterans across the South of England and Wales - specifically; Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset as well as North and South Wales. On any given night our Homes for Veterans are able to keep over 129 Veterans off the streets.

FAQs

May I bring friends and family?

Absolutely. Most of you wouldn’t have gotten this far without the generous support of your friends and family – and some of them may want proof that you got airborne! Alabaré has booked Areosuperbatics for the entire day so there is plenty of room to bring in your cheer leading team. There will be food and refreshments available to purchase.

Even in the summer, the airfield can get very windy and cool so please encourage everyone to dress appropriately.

If you are going to bring children, please understand that this is a working airfield and they must be supervised at all times.

Let's make a day of it - so bring your friends and family to ohhh and ahhh at you as you take to the skies. We will have food available to purchase and some vintage music to help set the scene.

Do I need additional insurance?

Areosuperbatics have public liability insurance to cover you for the duration of your flight. We have absolute confidence in their ability to deliver a safe and fun event – otherwise we wouldn’t be doing this.

Alabaré has £10m in public liability insurance and will be working to ensure you are safe while on the ground.

However, we cannot cover you for all eventualities should at the most exciting moment of your life, your body decides to rebel. For this reason, we recommend you consider taking out private medical health insurance.
