Description

Dabble with Devore: An Introduction

A workshop to learn the basic principles of devore, equipping you with the skills and opportunity to produce either a selection of samples, a cushion cover or a scarf.

During the workshop you will be introduced to the materials, equipment and processes required to produce the devore effect. You’ll learn how to;

  • translate your design onto cloth,
  • create a stencil to print with,
  • explore the different methods of applying devore paste (block printing, hand painting & stencil application) and
  • how to ‘burn out’ your designs.

We will be working on white silk viscose velvet. If time permits, we can dye your finished item in the workshop. Alternatively, you can leave it to be dyed, in your chosen colour, and the finished item will be mailed out to you.

You are encouraged to bring along photos, skteches and ideas to help you create your designs.

All materials are supplied. Light refeshments of tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are included and available throughout the day. You will also need to bring along;
