Description

The 2018 Annual Lecture will be given by the President of the Blake Society Philip Pullman.

Philip will talk about the importance of stories and the craft of storytelling giving examples from his newest work : La Belle Sauvage (the first novel in the new trilogy 'The Book of Dust' and the earlier Blake-inspired trilogy 'His Dark Materials'.

The lecture will draw on Daemon Voices ~ Pullman's recently published book on storytelling as well as the influence on his writing of Blake, Milton and the Bible.

Philip Pullman's talk will be accompanied by selected readings given by the actor Olivia Vinall (The Woman in White - BBC TV; Othello, King Lear, Young Chekhov - National Theatre). The evening will open out into a Question & Answer session followed by the opportunity for the author to sign books.
