It's back! The Daft Raft Race 2022!
Save the date for Saturday 6th August 2022. Entries are now open and we can't wait!
As well as the Daft Raft Race there will be lots of other activities as part of the Harbour Festival 2022. Events planned on the day: Tug of war, Model planes, Sand castle competition, RNLI display, Rowing race (Dundrum Rowing Club) Emergency Services Display, Other activities throughout the day.
There will be a maximum of 25 teams. Each team will consist of 4 people and each team will have to build their own unique raft. Each team can choose to raise additional but essential funds for MYMY, in the knowledge that their collective efforts will make a world of difference to the local community. Sponsorship forms are available and can be downloaded or available from the MYMY house.
You must build your own raft. Each raft is to hold 4 persons. Launch will be at 6pm on Saturday 6th August 2022 at Newcastle Harbour. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd plus some prizes that we will announce soon!
About MYMY - We are an organisation focused on helping people raise their self-esteem, their self-awareness and to develop a better understanding of self-care. We believe this helps individuals acquire a greater sense of confidence and self-respect, a priceless attribute in life’s journey. We also want to create more awareness around mental health and suicide prevention.
As many of you are aware suicide, depression, relationships, physical health and financial issues have become too common in our communities and many people find aspects of their life a challenge. We at MYMY offer a safe and friendly space for individuals to work through the issues that are becoming a burden and affecting their everyday lives. The MYMY House is open 4 days per week from 9.30 to 4.30 for general office activities and to facilitate counselling sessions and daytime support groups. The House is also open on selected evenings to enable after-hours counselling and to host other support groups and outside agencies. Ultimately, we are here to help anyone who would like some support. We do this by providing services such as one-to-one counselling and wellbeing services open to everyone please contact us for further information.
