DAISY CHAPMAN
LISTEN:“Watch this woman, she’ll go far.”
– BBC Introducing
“…a great singer-songwriter…well worth checking out.” / “A great album. Really lovely.” – Johnny Coppin, BBC Radio Gloucestershire
Eight years since going it alone, Daisy has proved herself as a talented and shrewd songwriter in demand. Two albums have been recorded by renowned producer Ali Chant at Toybox Studios (PJ Harvey, Gruff Rhys, Giant Sand, Seasick Steve) including her latest release, “Shameless Winter”.
Daisy’s powerful vocals have been used by the likes of John Parish, for his film work, as well as a handful of TV session work. Her piano style and versatility was noticed by UK prog rockers Crippled Black Phoenix (Mascot Records), and for two years Daisy travelled as pianist/BVs with the band on tours covering every corner of Europe as well as a short trip to China. Daisy was also chosen as vocalist on their cover of ACDC’s “Let Me Put My Love Into You” which was used in Classic Rock Magazine’s cover CD – a stark departure from her wistful singing style, proving her adaptability in musical genres.
LISTEN:
“Instantly captivating.” – The Independent
“This is a fantastic album. A great singer and songwriter new to me. Check out her music.” – Adam Wilson, The Quiet Revolution
Daisy has supported well known artists such as Howe Gelb, Karima Francis and Jenn Bostic as well as booked her own tours in the US and Poland, not to mention label tours across Germany, twice a year since 2009. Two studio albums followed suit, one of which (The Green Eyed, 2009) won an Independent Music Award which then secured her slots at Britain’s leading festivals Glastonbury, Wychwood and 2000 Trees.
“An enchanting work between chanson and classic songwriting.” – Rolling Stone, Germany

Cat Eliza T
Tonight we also delight in having Cat Eliza T performing again for us. Cat is a Southampton based singer\songwriter who played guitar in public for the first time in a show and tell at school, aged 8.
As well as guitar and ukulele, she also plays viola in several orchestras, but she rediscovered her love of folk music at University, performing on campus. Being brought up on Bluegrass, her music is happy, with sad lyrics. Sometimes she breaks this rule and it's just sad....or just happy.
She loves to wow audiences with her ever growing 'multi-instrumentalism'. With a powerful voice to rival Streisand, she has been known to deafen fans on the front (and back) row. Her impressive vocal range, and strong stage presence set her apart from the rest.
Her influences include: Sivu, Lucy Rose, Keston Coblers Club, Newton Faulkner and many many more. CatElizaT's currently recording her first EP.
LISTEN:
Our Director Paul Bickmore (better known as Bik) spends a lot of his time tracking down a varied, interesting range of performances for us to host here at The Art House.
A seasoned musician himself (as well as being the man who does the sound engineering on the night - something he does extremely well), Bik hand selects the very best acts to showcase in our gallery space - his criteria?
They have to make him feel like this - and they will have the same effect on you, we promise.

Most events are held on our first floor, accessible by a wide staircase with a sturdy banner. Comformatable seating is provided. We regret that, due to space and other constraints, we are generally unable to relocate our events to the ground floor for those who require ground level access - so sorry.
