DAN Does...Life Drawing Model Workshops

Alongside our drawing sessions, we’re also offering two special Model Workshops for anyone curious about what it’s like to be a life model. No experience required.

Life drawing – drawing the human body without clothes – has always been a vital part of artistic practice, and now you can have a go without needing to go through art school.

Life Drawing Model Workshops

These two workshops are for anyone interested in trying life modeling in front of a supportive, small group (max 10 people).

• You will need to be willing to be naked in front of a small group of people who want to draw you
• Poses will be 5–10 minutes, with longer options if comfortable.
• Bring a robe/dressing gown; you’ll change in a small room before entering the drawing space.
• We provide a blanket, table, chair, and lighting to create varied shadows.
• Together, we’ll discuss poses that feel right for you.
• No drawing experience is needed—everyone will try both modeling and drawing, but how you draw doesn’t matter.
• Sharing artwork is optional, though many find it positive.
• At the end, we’ll reflect briefly, and you can decide whether you’d like to continue modeling.

We aim for one model per session, but pairs are welcome. In the main life drawing sessions (2 hours with a 20-minute break), you’ll only model, not draw.

2. Saturday 4 October, 1–3pm

Support & Lead

All sessions are run by three experienced facilitators who are there to make sure models and artists feel comfortable and supported. Sharing drawings is optional, but many people find it a positive part of the experience.
