About this Event
Katy Hewison is a teacher, performer and research artist who delivers across NSCD L&P provision and has a keen interest in working with primary age children, in particular Katy is interested in movement research and bringing together dance artists and young children in her Improplay workshops, to inspire, ignite creativity, playfulness, and support individuals well-being.
The primary dance CPD workshop will help you to create your own dance toolkit:
• How to structure a dance workshop
• Key elements of warm up / cool down
• Ways to create dance work with children
• Sharing of skills & ideas to develop your work
Based in Chapeltown, Leeds, Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) is a leading centre for contemporary dance in the UK and is currently the only institution to offer conservatoire-level professional dance training in the North of England. Through our pioneering Learning & Participation (L&P) programme, NSCD engages with schools, groups and community setting across the UK delivering classes age 5+ from weekly sessions to masterclasses and teacher CPD.
