Aylesham Community Action is raising £50,000 to fund legal representation at a public inquiry into Berkeley Homes’ proposed redevelopment of the Aylesham Centre on Rye Lane, Peckham. Their plan would add 867 flats, but only 50 affordable, socially rented homes – in a borough where housing need is urgent. Southwark Council has already rejected the scheme, but Berkeley has appealed directly to the government. We need funds to secure expert legal support and make sure the community’s voice is heard.
