You do not need to have any previous dance experience as the main aim is to explore and enjoy easy and fun dances with full instructions given.

Do I need to wear special footwear?

We advise you to wear flat, soft, comfortable shoes (not heels)

Are there any age restrictions?

There is no upper age limit. The sessions are for people aged 18 and over and we regret that we are unable to accept bookings from people who are under 18 years of age.

Do you want to dance like Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I, Charles Dickens or even Robin Hood? Mike and Lynne from Grantham Danserye invite you to join them for 6 historical dance taster sessions starting on Tuesday 23rd September 2025, 7.30-8.30pm, at Fernwood Village Hall, Newark. We will explore easy and fun dances from the 15th to 20th centuries. You do not need a partner to attend. Cost: £5 weekly on the door or £25 for all 6 sessions booked through Eventbrite.
