How can I find out more about the project and other activities?

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes please – spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Just use the booking link on the event page

Question 3

What if I can’t make it after booking?

No problem – we just ask that you cancel your booking as soon as you can, so someone else can join the ride instead. You can do this via Eventbrite or by emailing me at kirsty.ryder@cyclinguk.org

Question 4

What kind of bike do I need?

Accepted Answer

Any roadworthy bike will do. If you don’t have one, we can usually lend you a bike (including e-bikes). Just let us know when you book.

Do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

Just bring a drink of water and wear clothes that are comfy for cycling and suit the weather. Gloves can be handy if it’s cold, and we can lend helmets if you don’t have one. If you need medication like an inhaler, please bring that along too.

Do I need to be a confident cyclist?

Not at all – if you can ride a bike, you’re welcome. We go at a sociable pace, no one’s left behind, and we’ll walk any tricky road sections if needed.

Can children join this ride?

This particular lunchtime ride is just for adults. But don’t worry – we’ve got options for families too! We’ll be running family cycling sessions designed around each family’s needs, and there’s also Play Together on Pedals for younger children

How long is the ride?

About an hour at a gentle pace, mainly on local cycle paths and quiet roads.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We usually go ahead unless it’s unsafe (for example, high winds or icy paths). If we do need to cancel, we’ll let you know by email.
