Join me, and we'll while away some hours crafting. I craft at home and work, and have been an upholsterer for a number of years. I've also designed furniture, lighting and cushions.

About this event

What to expect

– Four guided evenings where participants learn basic Danish cording skills and construct their own premium quality stool.
– Assemble legs/frame, including light sanding, glueing, oil finish, followed by the weaving.
– Materials: We only use premium-quality wood and Danish cord. The frame is flawlessly hand-machined in Manchester.
– Tools and Equipment: All necessary tools and equipment for the workshop are provided.
– Scandi-style snacks and drinks are provided, as is a nice bit of chit-chat.
– No prior experience is needed, just nimble fingers! Absolute beginners welcome.

– This activity is delivered by me, Charlotte Cochrane.
– Can accommodate 5 + participants.
– Size: 470mm x 350mm x 355mm. Solid beech, manufactured in the UK
– Danish cord – traditional natural and black options (extra fee for black cord)
– The inside frame can be discreetly personalised with laser-cut text (great for wedding gifts, anniversaries etc.)

Frequently asked questions

Can I transfer my ticket?

You may transfer your spot to another person. Please notify us of the name of the substitute participant at least 2 days before the course start date.

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

Cancellation Policy Full Refund: Within 7 days of registration: A full refund will be issued for cancellations received within 7 days of the original registration date. Partial Refund: 7-14 days before the course start date: A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations received between 7 and 14 day

Can I get a cuppa whilst there?

You sure can, tea/coffee and some cake/biscuits are provided FREE

I have arthritis (or similar), can I still do this?

I would suggest not, as it can be a little tiring for your hands.

If I need to miss a session what will happen?

No problem, we can work something out.

I want to choose black cord. How do I do that?

You can message beforehand or choose on the day. There is a £8 supplement which is payable on the day.

What should I bring/wear?

There will be a little bit of light sanding and oiling of the frame so bring an apron or old clothes. You're welcome to bring your own food and drink.
