Join HYGGE smørrebrød at The Bottle Shop on Saturday 24th September from 12pm for some traditional Danish Smørrebrød (Open Faced Sandwiches)
The Danish smørrebrød tradition spans back for hundreds of years, starting with the beautifully looking sandwiches being served as an indulgence in Copenhagen’s Tivoli gardens, to being the common mans daily lunch of choice, to now having moved into some of Denmark’s best restaurants while also spreading to cafes and street markets across Europe and the rest of the world.
Danish smørrebrød is both filling and healthy. The bread is seedy and full of fibres, and the toppings are commonly lean meats and fish, topped with fresh herbs and greens.
At HYGGE smørrebrød we aim to have a high standard of quality and only use the best and freshest produce. All curing and cooking is done in house, using traditional Scandinavian traditions and recipes and our bread is home baked.
