DARE TO SPEAK is back for its 7th show! We'll be back at the amazing Libra Theatre Cafe welcoming all poets and spoken word artist of all experiences.

Join us for a night filled with powerful words, raw emotions, and creative expression.If you're a seasoned poet or a first-time performer, this is your chance to take the stage and share your voices.

DTS IS HONOURED to be joined by the Forward Prize nominee for Best First Collection for Altar... DESREE!!!!!

Doors open at 6:30pm an the show will start 7pm sharp!

OPEN MIC sign up will be available at door upon entry. NO ADVANCED SIGN UP. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. If Open Mic spaces are full, surplus names will go into hat for wild card options.

A percentage of ticket sales will be given to organisations in support of the war and famine in Congo& Sudan

How can I sign up to perform on the Open Mic?

All participants will need a ticket. Names for the Open Mic will be taken at the door before the show starts. There are limited spaces so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. NO advanced sign ups. If Open Mic is full, surplus names will go into a draw for wild card options.

Open Mic Rules?

Open Mic performances should be no longer than 4 minutes and a maximum of 2 pieces within that time frame. DTS 7 will not be allowing props for this event to allow more time and space for performers. DTS does not tolerate any forms of disrespect or hate speech.

Why are there different ticket options?

General Admission are availabe at a set price to help with organisational and facilitation costs. Pay What You Can options are available to help people of all financial backgrounds. Any amount paid above the General Admission prices will be give to this events charity partner.

Can I bring my own Food and Drink

Please do not arrive with any obvious and/or open food or drink. The Libra Theatre Cafe, do not permit outside food or drink in their establishment as per their license. However, tasty food and hot and cold drinks will be available to purchase at the bar - where you can also meet the amazing owners.

Is the Venue Accessible?

The main cafe is accessible, unfortunately the space where is Dare to Speak will be held is on the cafes ground floor, with only staircase access.
