An in-person, regular training and experiential group in Kings Cross, London. Newcomers welcome.
Dare We Laugh?
Neohumour for shaping change | Enter the Bubble of Possibility
Date: Sunday 22 February 2026
Time: 14:00 - 18:00 UK-time | In Person | London Art Therapy Centre
Do you find laughing at an aspect of yourself helpful in overcoming difficulties and resolving problems? Would you like to learn more about using humour in different settings to help activate change in a safe way? Do you know your different sub-personalities and have figured out which may have become overbearing or too loud for your own good?
You are invited to attend a regular training group where we look at key concepts and principles underlying the use of humour for self-improvement. With demonstrations of the process, sharing images from the Almost Happy book, as well as pair work exercises, we will show how we use humour to support ourselves as well as each other. We hope this workshop will leave you feeling more energised and motivated to engage with change.
You will also receive a FREE COPY of the Almost Happy: Pushing Your Buttons with Reverse Psychology book (RRP £16.99) the first time you attend. 'Almost Happy' explains the concepts and principles behind the process and is an ideal handbook to enhance your experience of the workshops.
Facilitators:
This workshop will be facilitated by Dr Brian Kaplan – author and provocative therapist, with Hephzibah Kaplan, art psychotherapist, supervisor and director of the London Art Therapy Centre, and will be joined by Phil Jeremiah, senior Mental Health practitioner and trainer.

“I just want to thank you for the wonderful “Dare we Laugh” afternoon. It was both entertaining and thought provoking.I work in a school and have used the methods that I picked up immediately. I always knew humour was often key in therapy, but felt more confident after trying it out myself. ” DB, teacher
“Thank you both so much for the workshop session last weekend, it was brilliant! I really enjoyed the mix of theory, stories, demos and exercises – it very much showed the huge amount of skill you both have in working with people.” RG, Consultant
