Dark, Deadly Dalkeith - take a walk into the past and the darker side of this ancient market town and hear stories of : Witchcraft, Hangings, Grave Robbing & Murder.
Learn about the dark and more frightening side of Old Dalkeith, in the company of two "well-kent" local faces. If you have a sensitive disposition you may wish to bring a friend.
Your journey into the past will start outside the historic Coach & Horses Public House next to the old court house and jail. The walk will then take in a number of exciting and interesting historic buildings and places with their own stories of the past to tell.
Duration will be approximately one hour and thirty minutes. The journey into the past concludes with a glass of something to calm your shattered nerves in the newly opened Dalkeith Museum at the Dalkeith Corn Exchange where stories continue into the night ……………… you have been warned.
The tour will be led by local historian and tour guide Rae McGhee and Norman Brett, Vice Chairman of the Dalkeith History Society and Dalkeith Museum.
Meet on Saturday 1 October 2016, 7.00pm outside the Coach & Horses Public House, 166-168 High Street, Dalkeith, EH22 1AY.
