Description

Dark Moon Dua

دُعَاء‎

On Wednesday 31st July 2019, the moon will have no solar reflection. This is the dark moon. The dark moon makes way for the new moon, and the eventual full moon climax. It can be a time of rest, reflection and release and we invite you to come and sit still for once.

Aisha Mirza and Mahta Hassanzadeh will be honoring the dark moon by performing an electronic sound bath comprised of bass frequencies you can hear and feel, field recordings (of public transit, religious murmurations, notes to self), and live vocals about feeling dead while standing and the rich beauty and relief of darkness.

Mahta Hassanzadeh is a London based DJ (Basmati), party thrower, visual producer (sometimes visual shooter) and member of the QTIPOC collective and club night, Pxssy Palace. Whether they are shooting or djing, their aim remains the same; to weave together a story and create connections with others. @whatsthemahta

Aisha Mirza is a writer, DJ and chronic depressive. They write on race, sex and mental health and DJ at any gay party that will have them. Aisha is the creator of MISERY, a sober club night and mental health hub centring QTIBPOC healing. They spend all their money on tattoos. @dontcryaisha
