DARK RUN 2016 is a non-profit fun run, raising much needed funds for Hope House Children's Hospices.
Our event is funded by sponsorship/donations and organised entirely by unpaid volunteers!
The 5K (and optional 2.5K route - walkers are encouraged to complete the shorter route) will take place in Telford Town Park (IN THE DARK - AT HALLOWEEN) and all participants will receive a bespoke Glow in the Dark Medal - OUR BIGGEST MEDAL YET in 2016! Participants will also receive a Goody Bag at the finish line.
The aim of Dark Run 2016 is for runners/walkers to have as much fun as possible, whilst glowing in the dark and raising as much as possible for a great charity. Our local Clubbercise Instructor, will also be providing a warm-up before the start. THIS IS NOT A RACE... there are no prizes for first place, no timing either, so you can run, skip, jump, walk your way around a spooky Telford Town Park and have a great time this Halloween!
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING A TORCH / HEADTORCH - the park is VERY dark at night! The route will be clearly marked and fully marshalled, by our (incredible) 50 Volunteers.
UNDER 16's MUST REMAIN WITH AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES - This is non-negotiable and any children discovered running alone, will not be awarded a Medal or Goody Bag.

In 2016 (and in response to feedback/safety concerns from 2015) we must inform you that Dogs can no longer take part in our event.
FUNDRAISING - In addition to Entry Fees, participants are requested to raise a minimum amount in sponsorship, by setting up a personal JustGiving page. Once your page has been set up, please link it to our Team Page (Dark Run 2016), which will give us a running total of funds raised. Alternatively, paper sponsorship forms can be obtained by emailing email@example.com
Adults will be asked to raise a minimum of £20 each in sponsorship, Children (under 16) will be asked to try and raise a minimum of £10 in sponsorship.

Participant Information will be sent out prior to the event, but the planned start time for our event is 6:30pm. Please anticipate having to arrive earlier, to complate registration and PLEASE BRING YOUR EVENTBRITE CONFIRMATION (which will have your unique QR Code, for a quick check-in).
BY ENTERING DARK RUN 5K, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING:
I confirm that I understand participation in Dark Run 2016 is entirely at my own risk and I should consult my own doctor if suffering from any condition, that could make taking part hazardous to my health (entrants suffering from Photosensitive Epilepsy, should also be aware that flashing or flickering lights, including flash photography will be used throughout the event). I declare that I am medically fit to run and I understand that I do so at my own risk and agree that the organisers, sponsors, officials and volunteers cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to personal effects, personal accident, injury or any public liability. I fully understand that Dark Run 2016 will take place in the dark and will provide a torch for each participant I have registered. I also understand that Registration fees are non-refundable (in the event of cancellation/rescheduling) and are non transferable. I am happy for any photographs or video of me at the event to be used for promotional purposes after the event.
For adults registering under 16’s: I understand that I must accept full responsibility for the health and safety of the child I have registered and I must supervise them during the event at all times.
