DARK RUN 2017 is a non-profit fun run, raising much needed funds for Hope House
Our event is funded by sponsorship/donations and organised entirely by unpaid volunteers!
The 5K route and optional 2.5K route - (walkers are encouraged to complete the shorter route) will take place in Telford Town Park (IN THE DARK) and all participants will receive a bespoke Glow in the Dark Medal - OUR BEST MEDAL YET in 2017! Participants will also receive a Goody Bag at the finish line.
The aim of Dark Run 2017 is for runners/walkers to have as much fun as possible, whilst glowing in the dark and raising as much as possible for a great charity. Our local Clubbercise Instructor, will also be providing a warm-up before the start. THIS IS NOT A RACE... there are no prizes for first place, no timing either, so you can run, skip, jump, walk your way around Telford Town Park, whilst having a great time with family and friends!
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING A TORCH / HEADTORCH - the park is VERY dark at night! The route will be clearly marked with glow sticks/signs and fully marshalled, by our (incredible) 62 Volunteers.
UNDER 16's MUST REMAIN WITH AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES - This is non-negotiable and any children discovered running alone, will not be awarded a Medal or Goody Bag.
Please visit our website at www.darkrun5k.com if you require more information before entering!
In response to feedback/safety concerns from previous events, we must inform you that Dogs can no longer take part in this event.
FUNDRAISING - In addition to Entry Fees, participants are requested to try and raise a minimum of £10 in sponsorship, by setting up a personal JustGiving page. Once your page has been set up, please link it to our Team Page (Dark Run 2017), which will give us a running total of funds raised. Alternatively, paper sponsorship forms can be obtained by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
All entrants are asked to try and raise a minimum of £10 each in sponsorship.
£10 would help provide stimulation and fun art and craft activities for children to enjoy.
£20 would pay for an hour of specialist physiotherapy to help a child feel more comfortable and assist their relaxation and movements.
£35 would help pay for a special day out for children to remember
For more information about how to set up your fundraising page, please visit our website - www.darkrun5k.com
