The creak of a lone tree

A sinister apparition or is it just a trick of the light?

Chilling tales of dread and fear at the turning of year... join storytellers, Cath Edwards, Pyn Stockman & Sharon Carr if you dare when they return to the Happy Heart for an evening of spectral and unearthly tales that will chill you to the very bone!

The event price is £10 (plus Eventbrite booking fee) with first drink and cake included in the price.


The Storytellers are:

PYN STOCKMAN

Pyn is a performance storyteller living on a boat in the West Midlands. From folk tales to mythology Pyn spends her time researching, working with and telling stories from the oral tradition to people of all ages. She works regularly as a storyteller with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, West Midlands Readers Network, The Ifa Yoruba Contemporary Arts Trust and The Kate Luxmoore Group. And can be found performing in libraries, bookshops, story-telling cafes, festivals, woodlands and heritage sites as well as more traditional performance spaces. Pyn is also Artistic Co-director of Secret City Arts.

CATH EDWARDS

Is a professional storyteller and co-host of a storytelling club for adults, Lichfield Storytellers. She is a versatile and engaging performer, equally at home with adults, children and those with special needs. She tells at festivals, clubs and many other venues throughout the country. Her book, West Midlands Folk Tales, is available from The History Press

SHARON CARR

Originally from Canada, Sharon has been a Midlands dweller for many years. She traces her love of storytelling back to her Welsh mother who delighted in telling ancient family stories of growing up in Wales before the War. Until recently, Sharon was one of the resident storytellers at Birmingham Storytelling Café but now co-hosts a spoken word event with Pyn Stockman - StoryVibes - storytelling, spoken word & music.
