Our Guest Speaker:
With over 30 years of experience as an A&R and manager, Gordon has been responsible for signing and working with such successful and diverse acts as Deacon Blue, Travis and Daniel Bedingfield (among many, many others!).
Alongside this, Gordon has run his own publishing company and is the general manager of Big Life Management, with artists such as Badly Drawn Boy, Bloc Party and Benny Banassi on their roster.
It's fair to say Gordon has been at the front of the music business throughout all the past few decades of change and is going to share his wealth of experience and success with us.
More details on his talk to follow, but even without them, it's clearly going to be another fantastic and useful night to attend - and it's free* (see "Points of Etiquette" below).
So, if you're sure you can make it and definitely want to come, please grab your ticket now :)
After the talk:
After the talk there'll be a Q&A session with Gordon. At 8:30pm we'll be heading to The Parcel Yard pub in Kings Cross Station, for an informal networking session where you can also pick Gordon's brain (and buy him a pint!) in a more relaxed setting :)
(this is always an extremely useful part of the evening to attend; so many collaborations and contacts happen in the pub afterwards, so do your best to hang around!!)
Points of Etiquette:
These talks are free and we'd love to keep them that way! But we do need your help in this, and as such we ask you to help with these 6 things:
- Only reserve a ticket (for yourself and others) if you (and your friends) are 100% planning to come.
Please don't just grab a ticket/tickets then "decide later" if you're coming; it's not fair on the rest of attendees and makes it very difficult for us to run the event properly. - Be on time for a 6:30pm start.
The PRS venue is a one minute walk from Kings Cross Station. And Kings Cross is a very easy station to get to from anywhere. It is not fair on our other attendees - not to mention our Guest speaker - if we have to delay the start to wait for latecomers. Moreover, the longer the delay, the less time the speaker has to talk and answer questions - so everyone loses out! - If you can no longer make the event please cancel your ticket.
If you don't cancel your ticket, we'll be expecting you, which means we may be delaying the talk to wait for you... - If you are going to be late plese message us with your estimated time of arrival! (email is best).
For the same reason as above, this way you won't keep all the other attendees waiting. - If you think it'll be of interest to your music-related friends please share the event with them on your social networks! Don't be selfish, share the love!!
- If you enjoyed the event, please bring friends with you to the next one ;)
We send out a newsletter to keep people informed about our events, dates, ticket links and also other opportunities that may be of interest. If you'd like to be added to the list please click here :)
