About this event

Join veteran antiques dealer Joss Graham and Daisy Harvey of mending collective @g.o.i.n.g for a creative and practical exploration of mending techniques across the globe!

In this workshop, you will learn the woven darn stitch and be given the opportunity to explore other methods of repair such as patchwork, tension play and layered stitch.

Daisy’s method encourages students to be as playful as possible and to view repairs as personal embellishments and creative mark making.

The workshop will be followed by a Show & Tell session with Joss Graham, looking at an array of antique textiles from around the world and the creative ways they have been repaired and repurposed over time.

Join us for an interactive and informative mending workshop in a beautiful gallery settting.

No skills are required, and materials are provided - but be sure to bring a damaged garment or other textile piece in need of mending to work on!

Tea and coffee will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Alternatively, there are plenty of local cafes and eateries around Eccleston Street, and indeed a variety of options in Victoria Station.

Agenda

Practical workshop: 11 am to 2 pm

Lunch break: 2 pm - 2.30 pm

Show and Tell: 2.30 till 4 pm
