Darn it! with Hermione Crowe

Have you ever wondered how to repair a hole in fabric? Come along and learn how to darn with Hermione Crowe. Once you understand the basics, making intricate patterns is fun and easy. All levels of experience are welcome. Suitable for adults and accompanied children aged 4+.

This gallery activity accompanies our Significance exhibition of new stitched work by staff and students of Manchester School of Art and the collection items they were inspired by. Hermione Crowe’s work is included in the exhibition.

This is a drop-in activity and will take place in the Significance exhibition, located in the 2nd floor exhibition room at Gawthorpe Hall

The activity is free, but please note that standard Gawthorpe Hall entry charges apply: £4 adults, concessions £3, accompanied children free. Free entry for National Trust members, Friends of Gawthorpe and Art Fund National Art Pass holders.

Additional Information

Gawthorpe Hall is a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan country house. Due to the historic nature of the building there is no wheelchair access and no lift. The exhibition room is located on the second floor.

There is free parking for visitors, approximately 150 yards from the Hall, with mobilty access closer to the Hall.
