Eventbrite Description:

Join our London Repair Specialist, Ruth Timms, to learn two different darning techniques to repair your well-loved knitwear.

Bring along a garment to repair - it could be a sock, jumper, or any chunkier knitted item such as a blanket. Learn duplicate stitch (Swiss Darning) to repair and reinforce, or practice creating a woven darn to fix holes in your knitwear.

Suitable for all skill levels, all materials, clothing to repair, and tools will be provided, along with drinks from our partners Pentire and Harbour.

Host Bio - Ruth Timms:

Ruth is a maker and repair specialist at Finisterre’s Neal Street store in Covent Garden, London. Sewing since a young age and trained in clothing design at Falmouth University, she is passionate about restoring personal connections to clothing and extending its lifecycle. Outside of the London workshop, she works on repairs and alterations from her home in Kent or may be found foraging along the coast.
