Event description

Description

Manchester Central Library will be the venue for family workshops to make fabulous lanterns for the Dashehra Diwali Mela celebrations which will be held on Saturday 14 October.

The lantern making workshops will take place in Manchester Central Library on -

Saturday 7th October from 11.00 - 1.30pm or 2.00 - 4.30pm

Saturday 14th October from 11.00 - 1.30pm or 2.00 - 4.30pm

The workshops are free for children aged 7+ and their families.

All those taking part in either workshop will take part in the main procession on 14 October, leading into the spectacular finale performance and firework display in Albert Square. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this exciting event!

The workshops are free to attend but must be booked and are specifically for people who can take part in the Diwali Lantern Parade on the evening of Saturday 14 October. Please only book a ticket if you can attend the parade.

Please note: Each ticket is for a family to attend the worksop. As the amount of lanterns is limited, each family makes one lantern to carry on the parade.

Suitable for children from 7 years. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult at all times.
