About this event

Join us for our first Data Access and Discovery Webinar of 2023 as we explore some of the data services and expertise on offer from two Health Data Research Hubs: Discover-NOW and Pioneer.

We’ll be joined by:

  • Ben Pierce – Head of Data Analytics and Partnerships, Imperial College Health Partners and Discover-NOW (note a change of speaker from Amanda Lucas)
  • Suzy Gallier - Deputy Director of PIONEER
  • David Seymour - Director of Infrastructure and Services at HDR UK

Discover-NOW is the Health Data Research Hub for Real World Evidence aiming to revolutionise the way health data is used responsibly for research into treating and preventing disease. It’s a collaboration between NHS organisations, academic, technology, industry, and charity partners as well as patients and the public, and led by Imperial College Health Partners. Discover-NOW supports access to one of the largest de-identified linked health data sets in Europe - across a population of 2.5m - which brings together real-world patient health data, in a safe, secure and Trusted Research Environment (TRE).

PIONEER is the Health Data Research Hub for Acute Care, enabling innovative researchers and companies to develop, test and deliver advances in clinical care with real-time information and support services. PIONEER is improving patient care by making routinely-collected health data available to doctors, researchers and academics, under licence. With robust governance and ethics in place, this data can then be used to develop new methods of predicting, diagnosing and monitoring illness in hospital and at home; improving treatment choice and identifying new ways of delivering clinical care.

There will be an introduction by David, followed by talks from Amanda and Suzy, with an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end.

We look forward to seeing you there - all welcome!

Joining instructions will be sent ahead of the webinar.
