About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Better use of data is vital if governments, the public sector and public purpose organisations are to help people. There are teams in lots of these organisations showing the way and trying to do things differently.

The Data Bites series aims to put good work on the record for us all to learn from, provide a space for people in and around government to discuss data (and more), and bring what data can do for us to life in a way everyone - inside and beyond data and digital professions - can appreciate.

These monthly events originated at the Institute for Government and you can watch previous events here.

Speakers include:

  • Alex Blandford, DPhil researcher, Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, University of Oxford, and Principal Consultant, Public Digital, on you can't API your way out of politics: civic technology, open data and the next ten years
  • Laura Gilbert, Head of the AI for Government program, Ellison Institute of Technology, Oxford
  • Ed Humpherson, Head of the Office for Statistics Regulation
  • MHCLG on the AI Directorate, Local Digital and Local AI

The event will be hosted in Westminster at Broadway House, Tothill St, London SW1H 9NQ (the closest stations are St James's Park, Westminster and Victoria Underground).
