Data Infrastructures for the AI Economy
Event Information
Event description
Description
The UK government expects that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will add £630bn to UK industry, but this added value relies on the availability of large volumes of high quality data that must be pooled together by different organisations across multiple sectors. There is an urgent need for data sharing ecosystems that promote governance, equitability, trust, ethics and privacy. The University of Southampton will host a workshop on 24 June 2019 to identify challenges and brainstorm project ideas for the development of secure and trustable data sharing infrastructures.
The event will bring together businesses, government, the Alan Turing Institute, the Open Data Institute, the Southampton Connect Initiative, and researchers from the University of Southampton. The attendees will have the opportunity to bid for seed funding to develop partnerships with a view to accessing funding for collaborative research or proof-of-concept projects.
