Event description

Description

GDPR will be enforced from 25 May 2018, providing a common baseline for data protection across the European Union. Compliance with GDPR will require data controllers and processors to take accountability for understanding the flow of any personal data they use, from the point they receive or collect it, where and how it is stored, through to who they share it with how. For many organisations understanding their data landscape in such detail is a new activity and many are not clear how to go about doing it.

In the breakfast briefing we will look at data mapping and beyond. Data mapping presents the perfect opportunity for organisations to understand what and where their key data assets are and enables them to take a practical approach to prioritising remediation. Our briefing will cover the process of data mapping and how you go about it, the value of getting it right, some real-world examples and how to maintain it.

The Breakfast Briefing will cover:

  • Understanding the value of your data

  • Covering data mapping

  • DPIA
