This is Data Points first event in Cork, where we will be looking at numerous Cork case studies focused on data analytics and AI.

Kevin Humphrey, Co-founder at Trend Micro.

  • Kevin's case study will foucs on 'How to use data analytics to measure and optimise your website traffic successfully'.
  • Kevin has worked in the IT sector for over 20 years in a variety of industries and through his experience he has gained numerous skills from working with BI and databases, to data and web analytics and web development.
  • In Kevin's words 'Data needs to be the bedrock behind all Business Decisions. The biggest challenge is building a story behind all the data sources. But the challenge needs to be accepted!'


Professor Paul Walsh - Founder and CTO - NSilico Life Science, Director of the SIGMA Machine Learning Research Group.

  • Paul will cover the tips and lessons he has learnt from implementing machine learning.
  • His case study will discuss research in various machine learning projects in the health and life sciences domain.


Dr. Michael Phelan- Business Technology Leader, Data Science at Johnson & Johnson

  • Michael's case study 'Data Science-Concept to Deployment' will discuss data sciences models from concept to deployment- where they can have the greatest business impact.
  • He has worked in data science related roles for 20 years across industry and academia and is passionate about the need for data literacy across organisations.
  • Michael was named 'Data Scientist of the Year' at the 2018 DatSci Awards in Dublin.
