About this event

In May 2018 the rules surrounding the collection, storage and use of personal data were overhauled by the introduction of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This seminar covers all the responsibilities and obligations of data controllers with respect to the use of personal data, taking into account the latest developments in data protection law, and gives insight into the changes that can be expected in the not too distant future. Topics include:

• lawful bases for processing;

• obtaining consent for processing;

• processor/controller relationships;

• the rights of data subjects, including subject access requests; and

• privacy policies.

This seminar also considers the interplay between the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and the steps that controllers must take to ensure the compliance of marketing campaigns, websites, and cookie policies.
