Event description

Description

2018 is looming, GDPR is less than 5 months away with much stricter rules. Don't be tempted to assume Brexit will do away with anything. Our one day event will help raise your awareness of the implications of the new GDPR regulations on your organisation. Complying with the latest Data Protection Act reforms is high on the radar of many organisations. We can alleviate some of that worry for you with our sector leading seminar on Understanding Compliance.

Don't forget ... already there have been 11 organisations fined over £130,000 for DPA breaches.

In feedback, previous attendees have said this is a must attend day of really valuable learning and networking around this particularly challenging topic. This event will be delivered by Richard Jeynes, MemNet Associate for Data Protection, Information & Records Management. Richard is a vastly experienced Information and Records Manager, with considerable expertise in office organisation and governance issues. He has spent a number of years running the Data Protection (DPA) compliance section in a large London Council. This included conducting information and DPA audits, revising practices, policies and procedures, and providing training to a wide range of front line and managerial staff. He has provided DPA training to a wide range of organisations in the charity and volunteer sector. Richard is MemNet’s designated expert in DPA and has delivered annual training events alongside the ICO over a number of years for our Members. For Memnet Richard is also currently working with a Royal Chartered Membership Body, a prominent Sports Governing Body, a private security training firm providing audits and focussed training around DPA and information governance issues, and has undertaken DPA training for the Institute of Fundraising.
